This 15”x 18” wood piece is my interpretation of a traditional Hawaiian Ahupua’a with the water, represented with eucalyptus robusta, flowing through connecting the mauka (mountains) to makai (ocean). The upper wood, eucalyptus saligna, represents Wao Na Hele, going down to Kiawe wood being Wao Kanaka down to the ironwood making up kahakai and kai.
